"Psychology of Suicide"

Now, don't take this post the wrong way, okay. I'm just pondering about this. I am NOT going to off myself. Ever. It'd have to be some horrible pain to outweigh my want to keep everyone around me happy. I'll try to never let it get to that point because I'm actively learning to ask for help. Although, it also makes me realise how much pain people must be in to consider suicide. Especially if I know how strong the person usually is and how caring they are of other people.

So anyway, I Googled "psychology of suicide" and came to a website that said the following:
People usually attempt suicide to block unbearable emotional pain... A person attempting suicide is often so distressed that they are unable to see that they have other options...they may not think of anyone they can turn to, furthering this isolation.

In the vast majority of cases a suicide attemptor would choose differently if they were not in great distress and were able to evaluate their options objectively. Most suicidal people give warning signs in the hope that they will be rescued, because they are intent on stopping their emotional pain, not on dying.
You know what - that was not cool. So anyway, after recovering from that, I was just sort of pissed off. What is that sort of statement expected to do to certain people, huh? What are we supposed to say now, uh - sorry - but I must be useless because I didn't see the warning signs...further, I must be spawn of the devil because I dashed their hopes. Sorry, it's all my fault. Then it goes on to say:
Survivors often find that people relate differently to them after the suicide, and may be very reluctant to talk about what has happened for fear of condemnation. They often feel like a failure because someone they cared so much about has chosen to suicide, and may also be fearful of forming any new relationships because of the intense pain they have experienced through the relationship with the person who has completed suicide.
So it just seems they are not very consistent with their themes and messages.
