On Being Old Boring

Oh I'd be so insulted if I really started sounding like an old person. You know, old person humour, old person sayings and a general old person air... i.e. a boring person. That's not to say that all people above a certain age are 'old people' or that all 'old people' are above a certain age. So it really isn't about being old... it's about being boring. It's just that older people are more likely to be boring. But it becomes very variable past teen years, because some 'youngish' people are pretty damn boring. It's a shame, really. It's like after these years, you're pretty much set as to whether you're a dull, dull person or you're interesting. And you know I'm talking about the way people think, not even really about the things they do. But how you think correlates quite well with what you do, methinks. I find the whole thing amusing. I wonder if boring people know they're boring. Probably not. Which means I could be very boring. BUT I guess it's all relative and you just have to find people you think are interesting. But it's good to be tolerant, too... of the boring ones and the obnoxious ones. Haha.

I like the phrase, "boring [someone] to tears" because it's true - being boring is such a waste of energy and time. Such a shame, really.
